This will be a brief expository talk about bridge trisections of knotted surfaces due to Meier and Zupan. This is a 4–dimensional analog of the classical case of bridge splittings of knots and links in Heegaard splittings of 3–manifolds. I will state the main theorems and examples focusing on the cases of S4 and ℂℙ2.
