American Mathematics Competitions

The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are exams that promote problem-solving skills and develop mathematical knowledge. These exams are created by the Mathematical Association of America and are targeted at middle (AMC 8) and high school (AMC 10 and AMC 12) students.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Arkansas will be offering these exams at no cost for interested students. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination. The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are both 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examinations. Participants will not need to bring anything with them. Pencils and paper will be provided.

For more information about the exams, please follow the link here.

Dates and Location:

Each exam will take place in the Science Engineering Building (SCEN) room 408 on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. The Harmon Avenue Parking Facility will be open. Additional parking is available across the street from the Walton Arts Center. Please see the campus map for more details.

Register: We require participants to register via the above link so that we will have a head-count for the event. There is no cost to take the exam. We will continue to accept registrations for exams as long as we have open spaces.
